Gap Insurance: Do I Need One and How Does It work?
10/12/2021

Released in 2021 to an anxiously waiting, enthusiastic audience, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L did not disappoint!  The Jeep Grand Cherokee L is available in 4 trim levels: Laredo, Limited, Overland and Summit.

I recently had the chance to view the 2021 Summit series and I was overwhelmingly impressed. This vehicle is much larger than the previous Grand Cherokee models. It is BIG without being boxy or overbearing. It competes well with a Lincoln Navigator or a Chevy Tahoe for size and style. The interior was gorgeous with leather and power seats, a sunroof, a huge 10.1-inch touchscreen display with MOPAR rear-seat entertainment, 3 rows of comfortable seating with tip and slide second-row seats to make it easy to get into the third row. Looks and comfort are important to me when choosing a vehicle in addition to safety – the Summit checks off all those boxes as well. The 360-degree surround-view camera system, highway assist system and traffic sign recognition and drowsy driver detection. And for those interested in towing trailers, boats or toys, this vehicle can do that as well.

Here’s a basic breakdown of the trim levels in their respective order:

Laredo

A 3.6L, V6 engine, Quadra-Trac, Active 4×4 system, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, heated front seats steering wheel, Uconnect media center with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a huge 8.4-inch touchscreen display are the most impressive features of this base model.

Limited

The same impressive engine as the Laredo, Quadra-Trac, Active 4×4 system with Jeep Selec-Terrain Traction Management System, Off-road information pages, power liftgate, remote start system, heated 1st and 2nd row seats, Capri leather-faced seats and capable of towing up to 6200 lbs.

Overland

Here’s where things get interesting! Choose between the 3.6L V6 engine or the 5.7L Hemi V8 engine with FuelSaver. Nappa leather-faced front vented bucket seats and options for a 10.1-inch display, tow package and trailer hitch zoom, in addition to everything the Laredo offers.

Summit

Again, choose between the 3.6L V6 engine or the 5.7L Hemi V8 engine with FuelSaver, power 12-way driver and front passenger seats with front seatback massage feature, an impressive 10.1inch touchscreen display, 360-degree surround-view camera system, highway assist system and traffic sign recognition and drowsy driver detection round out the features for this amazing vehicle.

If this lineup is any indication of what Jeep has in store for the future, I am excited!
