Overview

Buick has redesigned the Envision SUV for 2021, imbuing it with an eye-catching design that’s far more handsome than what the bland 2020 model.

The second-generation 2021 Buick Envision looks much better than the original model, which was imported to North American shores from Chinese factories in 2016. The new 2021 Envision is still made in China, at the same plant, but it has shed its milquetoast presence for a much more modern and edgy look. The five-passenger compact SUV has wider haunches, slimmer LED headlights and taillights, and chrome accents for a more contemporary feel overall.

What new 2021 Buick Envision offer?

The New 2021 Envision rides on a new platform, shared with the XT4, and it is 30 percent stiffer. Buick engineers sought to give the SUV additional comfort and control. Several driver-assistance features will be standard, including automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist. It will come in a range-topping Avenir trim level, and available options will include a head-up display, a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and a park-assist system.

Exterior

The new 2021 Buick Envision is lower and wider and, frankly, way better looking, than the rounded and anonymous outgoing model. Here in North America, it will be offered in three trims: Preferred, Essence, and—for the first time—a top-end Avenir with a unique grille, chrome trim, 20″ wheels and a lot of standard equipment. A Sport Touring package, which provides a look that is darker and more aggressive, with different 20″ wheels (18s are standard), is available with Preferred and Essence.

Like many modern vehicles, the headlights, taillights, daytime running lights, and a lighting animation when you approach or leave the vehicle all feature LED illumination.

Interior

Canadians love heated features so Buick has brought it all, heated perforated leather seats; a heated steering wheel; an air ionizer and air quality indicator; and a panoramic power moonroof. The Avenir version comes loaded and has standard heated, ventilated and massaging quilted leather front seats; textured wood on the doors, heated rear seats; navigation; and wireless phone charging. Active noise cancellation, a hallmark of Buick vehicles, is designed to provide a quiet cabin.

Being a modern luxury crossover, the Envision is packed with active safety features. The standard Buick Driver Confidence Plus package includes automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear parking sensors.

Options include a surround-view camera, enhanced automatic parking assist, adaptive cruise control, and a head-up display. Rear-seat reminder is standard, designed to make sure no one accidently leaves a child in the car.
