2021 Chevrolet Tahoe
Overview
The Chevrolet Tahoe has become the full-size SUV standard since they first came out in the mid 1990’s. For 2021, Chevrolet redesigned their classic full-size SUV. It’s built on the same truck platform that underpins the Chevy Silverado 1500 and the Tahoe’s bigger brother, the Suburban. That means it can tow and haul like a full-size pickup, but it’s got three spacious rows of seating so you can bring the family along, too. It includes a new suspension, new entertainment system, new interior design, new gear shift and more. The Chevrolet Tahoe also has a tremendous amount of passenger and cargo space.
What’s New on the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe
Chevrolet redesigned the Tahoe for the 2021 model year. The new Tahoe features an upgraded infotainment system with a larger touch screen (10.2 inches maximum, starting from 8), more standard driver-assistance features, a much larger cargo hold, and an additional 10 inches third-row legroom, and revamped exterior and interior styling.
Exterior
The 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe has a fully redesigned exterior, new headlights design and new split tailgate design. The Body is 6” longer than the previous model. The new tailgate allows you to just open the window part on the tailgate for you throw any small items into the Tahoe. Also, Chevrolet relocated the rear windshield wipers into the rear spoiler to make the entire rear look modern. Since the Tahoe is built on a truck platform, the 2021 Tahoe also comes with power running boards for easy assistance getting into the vehicle without compromising the Tahoe’s appearance.
Interior
Chevrolet has completely redesigned the Tahoe’s interior, first thing first, they removed the truck-style gear shifter and replaced it with a button style gear shift located on the dashboard. They have also replaced their old infotainment system screen with a foreign style touch screen that protrudes from the dash to look similar to a tablet available in two sizes of 8” and 10.2”.
Now you can control the 3rd-row seat position from the top of the centre console. You no longer need to step out of your driver seat to pull the lever to move the seats. When sitting in the 3rd-row seats and needing to get out of the Tahoe, you don’t need to ask for help or pull any levers, Chevrolet has now built in a button on the side of the 3rd-row seat, just one click of a button, and the 2nd-row seating will fold down for you.
For driver visibility, Chevrolet has introduced some new tech features to help the driver be more aware of the environment around the Tahoe. First inducing a rearview mirror dashcam, there is a lever below the rear mirror, when you pull the lever, the rear mirror will become a dashcam. In addition they have introduced a better 360 degree view on the infotainment screen.
Suspension
Buyers can enhance the next-generation SUV’s versatility even further by adding in the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension option, which Chevrolet has offered on High Country and Z71 trim levels.
The Maximum Ground Clearance setting raises the Tahoe to help it navigate the trails without issue, easily lifting the vehicle with the turn of a knob. Setting it back down to normal ride height is equally as easy – just twist the knob, and the suspension will settle back down to the standard ride height.
What’s more, the 2021 Tahoe’s air suspension will automatically lower the ride height on the highway to improve fuel efficiency.
The suspension is useful for other things too. For example, owners can raise the suspension to make it easier to align with a trailer hitch or lower the suspension to ease passenger ingress and egress. What’s more, the suspension features automatic load leveling at all four corners.
